If you're in the Central Illinois area we invite you to stop into our bakery / coffee shop and feel the nostalgic history of yesteryear.  Although we have preserved our wonderful historic past, we also provide new-age ammenities such as

free WiFi.  

 

We at Historic Grounds use only the finest and freshest ingredients to produce both old and new products that will satisfy anyone's sweet tooth.  We have recently added extended breakfast and lunch menus as requested by the community.  Opening at 6:30 a.m., you can stop in on your way to the office to treat your

 co-workers to some wonderful baked goods, and grab yourself a latte too! 

 

Even though we are a commercial

bakery, our items are individually hand

 made and bring back memories of watching their mom or grandma

baking in the kitchen.

 

The village of Metamora takes pride in preserving one of the last remaining court houses that President Lincoln practiced law in before he became President.  One of his most famous cases was mentioned in the Oscar Winning movie "Lincoln" (2012)
